Envelope to the issue 1 of the book-newspaper "Alcohols"
Envelope format C4
Envelope 1. On each envelope of the Alcools book-newspaper there is a picture from the corresponding issue.
The addressee is my best friend Igor Voronin, Master of all trades with a capital letter and in the truest sense of the word
From that moment on, it was time for a war on two fronts. At home, I fought with the printer, who hated envelopes fiercely. Then he went to the post office and fought with her. The post office of that time was not the same as it is today. She was breathing relic Soviet fumes all over and refused to accept letters.
Here are two quotes from the Alcoholic Chronicles regarding the first issue
About printer:Meet Epson 1290, the envelope serial killer. During the night he killed twenty-one pieces in a row, and continues. Already he cleaned his heads, and asked with words. Or striped, or torn to shreds and covered with blots. Office unitbeast. The jet bastard.
About Mail:By simple mail, but first class (“they will go in a separate bag,” the kind receptionist assured). Unfortunately, our post office no longer knows registered letters. But they will stick the stamps themselves - that is, I will also be in for a little surprise: two envelopes have been sent to the Letterhead studio.“Congratulations,” I said to two post office employees, “you have become a participant in an international cultural project dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the great French poet Guillaume Apollinaire!” Probably, the name Guillaume, difficult for the Russian language, did not work out very well for me (especially since my older brother and I, having come to the post office at lunchtime, did not waste time and marked the beginning of a long journey with a drink) - the postmen somehow sluggishly responded to this speech. “We will see each other often, every month!” I continued enthusiastically. Silence, quiet mouse scratching. "Goodbye," the brother said in the same quiet voice. "Goodbye!" they responded unexpectedly.
