"South in July." This is a direct quote from Brodsky: "On the thin back of a Viennese chair, the dress of a blonde, // And the winged flight of a silver, buzzing bullet, // Carrying lives south in July." This is the only place where I have signed "Joseph Brodsky": it is a whole stanza, and it looks like a quote rather than a stray piece of conversation.
The second name of the carpet is The Silence, which means silence with a capital "S" — a great Silence.
The first line of that stanza was the title of the collage.
