The White Chair Walking By the Sea Edge

The White Chair Walking By the Sea Edge

Jacquard tapestry, cotton thread 215×155 cm

"The White Chair walking by the edge of the sea" is a reference to Aitmatov's "Piebald Dog running by the Edge of the Sea". My signature (it lies horizontally) is half submerged or surfaced — in the form of either a shark or a submarine. Another kind of silence.

I now live near the sea, it's there, behind a blue hedge of pine trees, two and a half kilometers away. When the wind is strong, I can even hear it from here. The sound of the waves on this carpet is implied. I live near the sea now, it's there, behind the blue pine trees, two and a half kilometers away. This was the only time a collage was named the same as a carpet.

You can buy a carpet on the project's website.
