This is a custom job. The customer is the World Chess company, world famous in chess circles, the organizer of many international chess tournaments.
By a happy coincidence, the creator of the World Chess company is Ilya Merenzon, with whom my entire cartographic project began.
A very unusual Kings Game variable font was created for the chess card, including not only letters and numbers, but also more than a dozen sets of chess pieces, from ancient to modern.
In addition, the font has a lot of cell variants — including variable ones — which made it possible to type the entire surface of the land in chess patterns.
